This fall dessert recipe for Apple Butter Oatmeal Cookies uses apple butter, my favorite apple spice flavors, and cream cheese frosting.
Last Friday we took the afternoon off work and visited an apple orchard and pumpkin catch with C and my in-laws – All Seasons Orchard. It is the BEST pumpkin patch with lots of activities for kids, both little and big. C loved the animals {goats, sheep, bunnies, and chickens} and the pumpkin patch.
He also loved checking out the corn on the edge of All Seasons’ corn maze. The first weekend of November {this weekend!} is the last weekend that All Seasons will be open this year. I picked up a jar of apple butter and decided to make a new fall cookie recipe – Apple Butter Oatmeal Cookies.
These cookies are packed with apple flavor from the apple butter and apple pie spice. I added old-fashioned oatmeal to make them a bit healthier, but I still used a simple cream cheese for a few cookies. This recipe makes a soft, apple-spiced cookie.
