Note: Registration for the Chicago Hot Chocolate 15/5k is sold out, as of November 4, 2014. Thanks for visiting!
It’s a special night in this tiny corner of the internet – the one year blog anniversary of Chicago Jogger!
I started this blog to share running and healthy cooking experiences, and for motivation. I can’t wait to see what’s to come in year two. Here are a few of my favorite posts from the past year:
*Run to Green City Market + Bruschetta with Ramps and White Beans
*Race Recap: Soldier Field 10 Mile
*6 Week Endurance Challenge
*Roasted Butternut Squash & Chickpea Salad
*40 Minute Interval Workout
To celebrate, I’m announcing my first Blog Ambassador race experience coming up later this fall – for the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k in Chicago! The Hot Chocolate race begins in Grant Park and takes place on Sunday, November 9th. I ran this race with a friend three years ago {on a very cold November day}. Fall is my absolute favorite season to run. I’m planning to race the 15k this year and will post a training plan in early September.
The Hot Chocolate race has numerous locations around the U.S. The 15k Chicago race course loops downtown and heads south, ending along the lakefront path back in Grant Park. The post-race party includes chocolate fondue and hot chocolate, obviously. There are volunteer and charity running opportunities for this race as well.
If you want to join the Hot Chocolate fun this year, click here to register for the race. Please enter the code ChiJogHat – every registrant using this code will receive an extra in their race goodie bag, a Hot Chocolate hat. You will also help earn a free race entry giveaway to be hosted on Chicago Jogger – thanks for the support!
{I was not compensated for this post and all opinions are my own. I am posting information about the Chicago race for readers as part of the Hot Chocolate Blog Ambassador program.}

The Hot Chocolate is a fun race which has gotten a lot better over the last couple of years!
I've heard the same! I'm excited to see what's to come this year.
I'm about to make the leap from 5k to greater distances, if I survive my first couple attempts, you can be sure you'll be seeing me at the Hot Chocolate 15k with you! Happy Blogiversary!
I'm sure you will do great with longer distances! Good luck 🙂 Definitely consider adding the 15k to your list!
Trying to enter the ChiJogHat promo code in the Chicago 5k event for 2014 and it says "The coupon code you entered is not valid for this event."
Thanks for letting me know, that's so strange! I'm looking into this right away. I'll comment back once it is resolved.
Anonymous, thanks for your patience! I checked on this with the race organizer and confirmed the code is active for the Chicago Hot Chocolate races. Could it have been the wrong location selected? If you have other issues please feel free to email me at chicagojogger@gmail.com and I will pass it on to the race organizer. Thank you!
Thanks for the link! I just signed up for the Chicago 5K using the promo code you posted. I did the 5K last year and had a blast! 🙂
Sweet! Glad to hear it, I hope you have a great race.
Is it valid for little city walkers?
I've had a few emails about this, so I'm posting an update here – the code should be valid for any Hot Chocolate affiliated race in Chicago, including the little city walkers event. RAM Racing is looking into a fix, which should hopefully be in place by midday tomorrow.
whats the code?
The code is ChiJogHat.
What discount do you get?
There is no discount, but you will receive a free running hat in your race goodie bag. Only those entering the code receive the free hat. Thanks for visiting!!
