During warm summer months, I like to have no bake bars ready for an easy snack or breakfast. I had an opportunity this week to come up with a creative recipe with cereal, using Kellogg’s Cracklin’ Oat Bran. My Oat Bran & Cherry Snack bars contain only a few ingredients, and come together quickly in a food processor. This recipe is an excellent way to switch up how you use cereal – it can be used in so many ways beyond in a bowl for breakfast.

I found Cracklin’ Oat Bran in aisle 1 at my local Jewel-Osco grocery store, the cereal aisle. Cracklin’ Oat Bran is lightly sweet and crunchy, with a hint of cinnamon flavor. Try my new take on snack bars and you may reignite your love of cereal!

Start your Oat Bran & Cherry Snack Bars by adding 2 and 1/2 cups Cracklin’ Oat Bran to a food processor. Process for ~10 seconds, using the pulse function.

Next, add the rest of your ingredients to a bowl: an extra cup of Cracklin’ Oat Bran, applesauce, dried cherries, and melted almond butter.

Stir the ingredients until combined, and add to a 9×9 pan.

Press the mixture into the pan, and add a handful of cherries on top, if desired. Chill your pan for a few hours or overnight before cutting into bars.

This snack bar recipe is perfect for a hot summer day, for busy moms, and for anyone looking for a new and fun way to use cereal!
