30 Recipes for Whole30 Meal Planning

I am planning my first Whole30 starting on January 2. This post includes 30 recipes for Whole30 meal planning, including delicious options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I read recently that more than 100,000 people have completed the Whole30 elimination diet. I follow numerous Whole 30-focused accounts on Instagram and I have read about the 30-day eating plan in the past, but was never motivated to try it myself. Until this year – for four reasons.

First, I need to tame my sugar dragon after the holidays. I indulged in way too many treats this year and find myself searching for a sweet fix most nights. K and I have completed several “no sugar” months in the past, and I see Whole30 as an extension of that concept.

Second, I want to lose the rest of my baby weight. I know Whole30 is not intended to be a weight loss plan, but I think it will be a helpful re-set for me in the new year.

Third, I want to train myself to stop mindless snacking. One snack in the afternoon often turns into three as I’m prepping dinner and need just one more handful of veggie straws before we sit down to eat.

Fourth, I want to see if I have any food sensitivities. As a small child, I was severely lactose intolerant. I grew out of it somewhat, but dairy still bothers me occasionally, in particular when I eat food like pizza and ice cream. I also have a few mild patches of eczema that I can’t seem to get rid of, and I wonder if a food sensitivity is causing it.

To prepare for Whole30, I ordered The Whole 30 Fast & Easy Cookbook and read a number of posts online about the eating plan. I also reached out to some of my favorite food bloggers to ask for recipes that follow Whole 30 or can be adapted for Whole30.
